Ambassade de France au Vietnam announced this year’s “France Excellence Scholarship” and grant winners for the 2023 – 2024 academic year for students who are interested in studying the last year of a Master´s degree (Master 2) or a full doctoral degree at a French higher education institution. France Excellence Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships sponsored by the French Government for excellent candidates in Vietnam and the School of Biotechnology and Food Technology (SBFT) proudly has 3 students gaining the full scholarships this year.
As a part of a cooperation framework between Toulouse Biotechnology Institute (TBI) and SBFT, Nguyen Thao Anh (Engineer in Bioengineering class 59, Master of Science in Biotechnology class 2020B – valedictorian) will perform her PhD thesis named “Integrating Single-Cell Approach into Bioreactor Scale to Understand the Impact of Morpho-Physical Determinants of Filamentous Fungi on Cellulotic Secretome Production from Agro-Industrial By-Products” under the co-supervising of Dr. Mickael Castelain and Dr. Pham Tuan Anh. With more than 10 years of cooperation, TBI has accompanied the SBFT’s students to win many valuable scholarships; successfully trained and joint-trained 2 PhDs and 1 Master, of which 2 PhDs are currently lecturers at SBFT.
The PhD scholarship was also awarded to Pham Thi Ha Giang (Bachelor in Food Engineering class 62, Master of Science in Green Chemistry and Process – INP Toulouse) with the topic “Development of Rice Spirits and Proteins Through No-Cook Technology at Very High Gravity” under the co-supervising of Prof. Yves Wache and Assoc. Prof. Chu Ky Son at L’Institut Agro Dijon. Built on a 40-year of partnership, many generations of lecturers have chosen L’Institut Agro Dijon for research and study before returning to SBFT for teaching and education support.
At the Master’s level (Master 2), Nguyen Thi Lan Anh (Engineer in Bioengineering class 61) excellently received a scholarship for the Master of Life Science program at the University of Paris Cité in the 2023-2024 school year.
Also in this school year, Nguyen Huyen Anh (Engineer in Food Engineering class 62) was honored to receive the WISE scholarship from Nagaoka University of Technology (Japan) for a 5-year integrated doctoral program. The Nagaoka University of Technology is a popular destination for SBFT’s students with annual research exchange programs and becoming a great choice for graduate training study in the “land of the rising sun”.
