Promote cooperation in training and research with the School of Life Science and Technology – Tokyo Institute of Technology.

On February 24, 2023, the Dean of the School of Biotechnology and Food Technology,  along with the leaders of different departments and centers had a fruitful discussion with Prof. Susumu Kajiwara, Dean of the School of Life Science and Technology –  Tokyo Institute of Technology.

At the working session, Assc. Prof. Chu Kỳ Sơn discussed several areas of cooperation and practical measures to enhance the quality of education and research activities. The aim of this discussion was to create a solid foundation for connecting students from both countries with the opportunity to participate in exchanges or follow-up research programs.

The meeting was productive, and both sides exchanged many ideas and suggestions, which will help in creating opportunities for students to continue their education in Master’s and Doctoral programs, providing them with a great chance to advance their knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.

The leaders of SBFT welcomed Prof. Kajiwara – Dean of the School of Life Science and Technology – Tokyo Institute of Technology.

This collaboration will strengthen the relationship between the two schools and promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding. It will also broaden students’ horizons by exposing them to different perspectives and ways of thinking, which will help them develop a global mindset.

The School of Biotechnology and Food Technology and the School of Life Sciences and Technology at Tokyo Institute of Technology are top institutions for students pursuing degrees in technology in both Vietnam and Japan. These schools offer state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse student community, providing a unique educational experience. Students can engage in a variety of clubs and activities enabling them to broaden their horizons beyond academics.

Later that day, Prof. Kajiwara gave an introduction about Tokyo Tech, including its research facilities and financial assistance programs available to students interested in attending. Among these options is the MEXT scholarship, which is sponsored by the Japanese government. Students may be eligible for financial support scholarships of up to ¥148,000 per month, providing them with the opportunity to study and immerse themselves in Japanese language and culture.

Overall, the working session was a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education and research activities, and it’s expected to bring many benefits to the students of both schools.
